Unlike competitive reciprocating-head models, the Catamount has no mechanical springs that wear out and have to be replaced, for longer-lasting productivity.
As opposed to competitors' rigid valve designs, the HammerHead Mole's valve is designed to be flexible to prevent tool binding during operation.
All wear surfaces of the reciprocating head can easily be replaced.
Solid, one-piece striker features wear rings that eliminate metal-to-metal contact, decrease wear and help sustain a high level of performance.
Available Power Port® quarter-turn reverse system is the only reverse mechanism that fully locks into gear during operation to prevent accidental direction change during the bore.

Exclusive, clamped rear anvil is designed for fast, easy field maintenance, provides up to 200 percent more clamp load, and is the most secure assembly on the market.
With a clamped rear anvil that is 200 percent stronger than any competitor's design, the tool can run at an industry-best 110 psi (7.6 bar), for greater boring power.
Low operating cost per foot of installation, relatively low purchase price, minimal maintenance and minimal training time required for operation add up to the lowest cost of ownership in the industry.
