Ditch Witch Organization Restores C99 for Company Museum

restored-c99_1Ditch Witch Australia's Stewart Brown and Charles Machine Works' Cliff Lyle presented Kennards, the largest small equipment rental company in Australia, with a restored C99 trencher for the company's museum. Kennards, a family-owned company, has been in business for more than 60 years.

Cliff and Stewart located the C99 and, with a little elbow grease, restored the machine to its original state. Sandblasted and painted like new with the original paint color, the C99 arrived at Kennards in perfect condition. Not only was the look of the machine restored, but also the feel, as the engine starts and runs.

Andy Kennard explained the look of his new showpiece. "Most of the machines in the museum are in working order and the C99 is no exception," said Kennard. "The new tires and chain make it look like it is ready to rent, but we won't!" The restored C99 will take its place next to the Ditch Witch 1010, the first hydraulic-powered walk-behind trencher.

The Ditch Witch organization is proud to have a place in Kennards Museum, home to many other retired makes and models of small equipment.
